Ace Of Spades
Rose was a killer singer, but one of the highlights of the show was actually the song Mick sang. It was “Ace Of Spades” by Motorhead. One day at practice, when we were playing it as a warm up, Rose heard Mick singing it and really doing it justice.
“Whoa! Ok dude,” she said. “You have to sing this one from now on.”
Mick looked surprised. “Really? Are you sure?”
“Definitely!” said Rose. “I can play guitar on that one. It’ll be cool. Trust me.”
Tim and I agreed a hundred percent. Whenever Mick sang it, he had the mic high up pointing down in the same way Lemmy did. But he wasn’t mocking. He just really resonated with the song and put everything he had into it. And the fact that he was playing a Rickenbacker made it even cooler somehow. When we played it at the party our suspicions were confirmed. People went crazy over it and would always throw up the devil horns salute.
