When we finished our last song, we were getting ready to pack our instruments. Then I heard someone from the crowd yell “encore”. Then more people started yelling it.
“Shit. Should we do another song?” said Rose as we huddled around the drum set.
“I think we have to,” said Tim.
“I know,” said Mick. “But what song? We played everything in our setlist.”
“Ok,” said Rose. “I got an idea. Do you guys still remember ‘Metal Health’? I know we only play it when we’re screwing around, but…”
“Let’s do it,” said Mick before she could finish.
We all agreed and Rose picked up the mic. “Ok we got one more song for you. But I need you guys to all do me a favor on this one. Are you ready? Alright, for this song, I want every single one of you… to bang your fucking head!”

We all had grins as we played the opening riff. I looked at the crowd and could see that even non-rockers were getting into it. Everyone knew this song. And you didn’t have to be a metalhead to get caught up in the moment. After the guitar solo, we were at the part where it was just bass and drums. We extended that part so Rose could address the crowd.

“I want to thank you all for letting us play today. We had a blast. How about you?” Then she announced the band members and we brought the song to a close.
