Bass Face

As we played through the set, I imagined it was a real show. It made me get into it more and I noticed everyone else was doing the same. Instead of just standing there like we sometimes did, this time there was a lot more energy. We were moving around a lot and acting like we were on stage. Trying to have a cool presence.

This was the first time I noticed that Mick and Tim were fun to watch. Especially when they were really jamming out. Mick had a great bass face. And Tim had the drummer’s version of it. They were so immersed in the music that I don’t think they realized it. “Oh shit,” I thought for a second. I’m probably doing it too. Oh well. It was all good.

Rose had a cool stage presence too. For one thing, she had great moves. Also, she would bring attention to certain parts of the song. Whenever there was a cool bass part, she always seemed to be soaking it in. Or when there was a distinctive drum fill, she might even act it out with air drums. She didn’t overdo it though. It always just seemed natural.

We finished the first song and Rose addressed the imagined audience.
“Are you guys having a good time?!”
Tim’s sister happened to be walking by just in time to yell “no!”
Tim flipped her off without missing a beat.
