Dennis Erectus

Dennis Erectus started talking again. He was one of the night shift DJs on KOME. Whenever I heard his voice, my ears would perk up. I didn't want to miss anything he said. I was becoming more and more intrigued with this guy. He was funny, sarcastic and at times sounded like a madman.
Sometimes he would purposely start playing a crappy bubble gum pop song that you knew he hated. Like the time when he played “Shake Your Booty” by KC and the Sunshine Band. Then after about a minute, he would start screaming and moving the needle to make scratching noises. Then he would play it super fast. Then he would slow it down to half speed. And then the next thing you'd hear, would be him screaming and smashing the record to bits. I always had to laugh at this. But it was therapeutic in a way. Whenever he was on air, my ears were glued to the radio, waiting to hear what he would do next. He also played a lot of good metal, which of course was awesome.
Another thing about Dennis was that he liked to insult his listeners. But we didn’t get offended. It was just part of the act and it was usually pretty funny. He liked to claim that we lacked any class or sophistication. He would also do skits sometimes like “Dear Dennis” which was kind of like the life advice column, “Dear Abby”. But “Dear Dennis” was hilarious. His advice would be totally demented.
One other skit he did that was funny was “President Erectus”. This was where he would talk about all the things he would do if he were president. It was pretty perverted but it was hard not to laugh at some of the crazy stuff he said.
