Dio At The Cow Palace
“This is gonna be a killer show,” said Tim on our way to our next concert. This would be Dio playing at the Cow Palace and he was touring for his Sacred Heart album. Rough Cutt was the opening act. They only had one album out but I thought it was pretty good. It didn’t hurt that the singer Paul Shortino had a great voice.
On the way back we were all talking about what a killer show it was.
“That dragon was a trip,” said Mick, referring to the huge mechanical fire-breathing dragon.
“Ronnie kicked that dragon’s ass,” said Tim. “And what about the stage? The medieval castle? He had everything. Laser effects.”
“Claude Schnell did a killer keyboard solo.”
“And Vivian Campbell was awesome as usual.”
On the way home Tim mentioned that he was hungry. “Let’s stop by Denny’s.”
When we got there, I saw a lot of people waiting to get seated. Some were waiting inside and some out in the front smoking cigarettes. A lot of them were wearing Dio t-shirts. “So this is where everyone goes after concerts.”
