Guess This Beat

“Guess this beat,” said Tim as he started playing the drum intro to “Little Dolls” by Ozzy.
I joined in on guitar, and Mick joined in on bass.
“Thought you could stump us huh?” said Mick when we finished.
“Ok,” said Tim. “You guys think you’re so smart. How about this one?”
He started playing another beat. This time I was stumped. Mick too apparently.

That was alright. Because this beat was basic enough that almost any riff would work. So I started playing the riff from Slayer’s ‘Angel of Death’. Mick joined in and we had another killer jam until Tim motioned for us to stop.

"Ok,” he said. “We need to come up with a set. This is gonna be a big gig for us. I mean house parties are cool but this is going to be a big step up. They’re only giving us 45 minutes so we need to condense our set. Let’s figure out our best songs."
