"Anyway,” I said. “How was your trip? Didn’t you just get back from LA?"
"Yeah. It was a blast,” she said. “I partied hardcore. Saw some killer bands. Hey, that reminds me. There’s this band I saw there that I wanted to tell you about. I saw them at the Roxy and they put on a killer show.”
“Tell me more.”
“Ok, well you like Mötley Crüe right?"
"Well, yeah. I mean, I love their first 2 albums. Especially Too Fast For Love."
"Ok, well then you should check out this tape," she said as she walked back to the kitchen where her purse was. She came back with a cassette and handed it to me.
"Guns N Roses? I never heard of them."
"You will though. Trust me. These guys are going to be huge!"
"Really?" I said looking at the tape. “Live Like A Suicide?”
"They only have this EP now. But they have a full album coming out next month. I saw them live and they played a lot of songs from it."
"What do they sound like?" I asked.
"Well, they're hard rock for sure. But they’re different than all the other LA bands. My friend says they’re almost like a heavy metal version of Aerosmith. But their sound is really original. Take this home for the weekend. Let me know what you think."
