Headbanger's Ball
“What are you doing this weekend?” said Tim. “I’m having a little get-together.”
“I’m not sure,” I said. “What’s going on?”
“There’s a new show on MTV. Headbanger’s Ball. It’s going to be 2 hours of just heavy metal videos.”
“No way!”
“Guess who’s hosting the first episode. Lemmy and Phil ‘Philthy Animal’ Taylor.”
“No way! Ok, I’ll be there for sure.”
I’d been waiting for a show like this ever since they canceled Heavy Metal Mania. Ever since then it was hard to get my fill of metal. One thing I liked about this show was that they would sometimes play some obscure bands that we didn’t know about yet. It was a cool way to find out about new and up and coming bands.
“You guys are going to Maiden right?” said Mick during a commercial.
“They’re playing again?” said Peter. “Seems like you guys just saw them.”
“We did,” said Tim. “But you can never see Maiden too many times. Plus Tesla’s gonna be there.”
“And Y&T,” I added.
