Led Zeppelin - The Song Remains The Same
I always looked forward to seeing Zeppelin live. Even if it was just in a movie. By now I’d seen the movie so many times that I even started recognizing people that they showed in the audience. I could always predict when they were going to show the same hippie chick in the front row.
But to me it was about the music. One of my favorite parts was when they played “Since I’ve Been Loving You”. That song was so bluesy. And to me it was some of Jimmy’s best work. It was a slow song which really gave him a chance to shine.
Another one of my favorite parts was when they did the 14 minute version of “Whole Lotta Love”. I loved how they went into all these killer little jams. I never got tired of watching John Paul Jones, John Bonham and Jimmy Page jamming out.
“This is what we should strive for,” I said during one of these jams. It was an ambitious goal but I knew we could do it.
