Mick grabbed the notepad and started looking for the lyrics. “What’s this song about anyway?”
“Isn’t it obvious?” said Tim.
“Yeah,” said Rose. “Obviously. It’s about a merry-go-round.”
“But not just any merry-go-round,” said Tim.
“This song,” said Rose, “is about one bad ass merry-go-round. Trust me. This merry-go-round puts all the other merry-go-rounds to shame.”
I was trying to hold back laughter.
“I mean, think about it,” said Tim. “This merry-go-round is so amazing that a dude leaves his woman at home. Because he’d rather go ride the merry-go-round all night.”
This caused us all to laugh.
“Are you sure?” said Mick. “Because it could just be a metaphor for life. You know? Like how the world keeps spinning round and round. Or something like that.”
“Nah dude,” said Tim. “You don’t understand. This is just a really kick ass merry-go-round.”
