Neoclassical

“Dude!” I said. “When did you get all neoclassical and shit?”
Omar laughed. “It’s just some stuff I’ve been getting into lately.”
“Ok, so how did you do that last part?”
“Um. This?” he said as he played it again.
“Yeah. Can you play that again? Except slower?”
“Sure, no problem. This is just something I’ve been practicing lately. You do these little patterns. Like this one,” he said as he started playing.
“But instead of just going up and down a scale like a lot of people do, try this. Start at some note like this one.”
He played an A on the fifth fret of the low E string.
“And play 4 notes going up the scale like this. Then go back 3 notes and do the same thing starting there this time. Play 4 notes going up the scale. Keep doing that pattern. Start out slow like this.”
He played it slow at first, but then started slowly increasing the speed until it was lightning fast.
