Stryper

“Hey, did you hear about Peter?” said Tim as he was walking over.
“No, what happened?”
“He’s born again now.”
“No way!” said Mick.
“Yeah, I’m serious.”
“What’s he going to do with all his records?” said Mick. “Like all his Black Sabbath and stuff.”
“That’s the thing. He’s getting rid of them. He even said I could stop by and take what I wanted.”
“He’s getting rid of everything?” I said. “He has a pretty big collection.”
“Not everything. Just the stuff that he thinks is satanic. So that means Sabbath of course. Some of his Maiden, Ozzy. I think some other stuff too. It’s mostly albums I already have. But you never know. I might find something.”
“Sounds like a good deal,” Mick said.
“Doesn’t he have a bunch of KISS records?” I said.
“He does,” said Tim. “He has everything up until when they took their makeup off.”
“Come on,” said Mick. “You know KISS aren’t really satanic.”
“Depends on who you ask,” said Tim. “Remember what their name stands for?”
“Knights in Satan’s Service,” I said with a laugh. “But no one really believes that.”
“You never know,” said Tim. “Anyway, I’m not sure if he’s getting rid of those. But who knows. You might get lucky. Anyway, I wanted to get him something in return so I bought him Stryper tickets.”
“How appropriate,” said Mick.
“Yeah, they’re playing a new years eve show at the San Jose Civic. They’re on their To Hell With The Devil tour,” said Tim.
“You know what?” said Mick. “I have to agree with Stryper. To hell with the devil!”
“That’s right,” said Tim. “He can go to hell.”
“How do you know it’s a he?” said Rose.
“Come on Rose. You’ve seen the pictures. He’s red. Has horns. And a shit eating grin.”
“Hey so I was wondering,” said Mick. “At a Stryper show, are you allowed to do the sign of the horns devil salute?”
“Oh, you wouldn’t want to do that,” said Tim.
“But what if you do?” said Mick.
“Well,” said Tim. “That’s when they take you out back and beat the shit out of you.”
“It’s true,” I added. “They don’t put up with that.”
